ADHESION IN HIGH-TEMPERATURE ENVIRONMENTS ON MANY DIFFICULT SUBSTRATES
Silquest A-Link 597 Silane is an adhesion promoter that contributes to the effectiveness of adhesive systems used in challenging applications by providing two primary benefits. First, it can help deliver improved adhesion to difficult substrates such as plastics, glass and metals, including aluminum and steel. Second, it can maintain its excellent performance in applications where exposure to sustained temperatures may occur, such as hot melt adhesive systems.
Silquest A-Link 597 Silane’s innovative chemical architecture features a high concentration of trimethoxysilyl groups that provides effective adhesion even to difficult substrates. Its isocyanurate chemistry features a polar structure that provides good solubility in most resins, including most hot melt resins. This structure can also create good wetting of most substrates, and thermal resistance and low volatility to the adhesion promoter.

In addition to commercial hot melt adhesive applications, Silquest A-Link 597 Silane has demonstrated excellent properties as an adhesion promoter in SPUR+* prepolymer-based sealants. It can help impart excellent elastomeric properties to sealants because of its low basicity and dispersed alkoxy groups, as compared to some other adhesion promoters.
